Quality Manager / Apparel Technician (f/m/d)
complex protective equipment
Product Quality is part of the BwBM Product Management department and supports the procurement process for clothing and equipment from the bidding process through to the delivery of new goods. Quality assurance measures are coordinated as early as the contract award phase and later implemented throughout the manufacturing process. You can expect a dynamic team that enjoys exchanging ideas and supporting one another. Of course, you will receive structured and comprehensive training. The product group you will be responsible for includes complex protective equipment and PPE ( such as firefighter apparel, protection against wet and cold conditions, and complex workwear).
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
As part of a small team with structured work processes, you will work independently on the following challenging tasks:
- You will ensure compliance with quality standards (from the procurement process through to product delivery)
- You will be responsible for planning, implementing, reviewing, and adjusting quality assurance measures
- You will create product and quality specifications, test plans, and conduct document, material, and sample inspections, as well as handle customer complaints
- You will provide technical support to inspection staff at the warehouse locations
- You will serve as the point of contact for contractors as well as internal and external customers, communicate clearly, and enjoy working as part of a team
YOUR PROFILE:
- You have completed vocational training in the field of apparel technology, textile technology, fashion, tailoring, etc., or, if applicable, a degree or further training as a technician or a comparable qualification.
- Through your relevant professional experience, you have acquired comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes for complex protective equipment—both with and without PPE certification—as well as garment manufacturing.
- You have experience with quality assurance methods, quality development, guidelines, and standards, or are willing to learn these areas.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and SAP experience are desirable
- Working independently and maintaining high quality standards in your own work are very important to you.
- You are characterized by analytical thinking and a cross-functional understanding of processes.
