PPE Product Certification Specialist (m/f/d)

Your Mission
Ensuring all CE-relevant product certifications and formal market authorization for all products in the SPORT, TEC, and PRO business units. The position serves as the technical authority for standards, conformity assessment, and product safety-related processes.
What to Expect
Product Certification & CE Compliance:
- You will be responsible for all CE-related product certifications (e.g., PPE Categories I–II, high-visibility, and electronics where applicable) — with the prospect of expanding to PPE Category III
- You will select relevant standards and harmonized standards (EN standards), interpret them, and ensure their correct application
- You will derive binding technical requirements for construction, materials, and design from these standards
- You ensure that products are developed in compliance with standards throughout all development phases—from the initial concept to series production approval
- You are responsible for the EU conformity assessment and for the preparation, review, and approval of the EU Declarations of Conformity (DoC)
- You ensure that technical documentation (Technical Files) is complete and up-to-date
Technical Oversight of Development:
- You serve as the central technical point of contact for SPORT, TEC, and PRO on all CE and certification matters
- You provide technical guidance to the development teams on all matters related to standards, compliance, and certification
- You define binding compliance requirements as an integral part of the development process
- You will work closely with the Product Management, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and Legal & Compliance departments
Risk Management:
- You will establish a product-specific compliance risk management system and continuously refine it
- You assess technical and liability-related risks and derive preventive measures
- You provide support for customer complaints, incidents, and potential recalls
Processes & Systems:
- You will develop standardized certification processes and integrate them into PLM and QA systems
- You will manage external testing laboratories and Notified Bodies and ensure smooth collaboration
You bring the following to the role
- You hold a degree in engineering, textile technology, product safety, quality management, or a related field
- You have several years of experience in product certification and CE conformity assessment
- You have very good knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines (PPE Regulation, EN standards, CE processes)
- You have experience working with Notified Bodies and testing institutes
- You have a structured approach to work and are assertive
- You have excellent English skills
