The Mauritius Group has been developing jackets for specialty retailers for over five decades. It became known for its high-quality leather jackets under the Mauritius Leatherwear brand, formerly Gipsy. We are now applying this expertise in cuts, fits, materials, design, and craftsmanship to textile apparel. This is how Freyr&Son was born: a brand for women’s jackets in the high-end mid-price segment, featuring a Nordic-inspired design aesthetic and a commitment to combining quality and self-expression.
Freyr&Son is for women who know what they want. They are active, nature-loving, and stylish—whether in the city or outdoors. Our tagline: “Define yourself.”
The first collection, HW27, tells the story of two worlds:
- Real Faux Fur: luxurious, soft faux fur jackets with a bold look
- Outdoor: functional puffer jackets with a clean, minimalist aesthetic
Freyr&Son is intended for brick-and-mortar specialty fashion retailers. To that end, we’re looking for partners who know the retail landscape in southern Germany. Agencies operating nationwide are also welcome.
What You Bring to the Table
- Substantial experience with women’s outerwear, jackets, or outerwear

Who’s behind Freyr&Son
The Mauritius Group is based in Wietmarschen-Lohne. It was founded by Jürgen Raberg; today, Katrin and Christian Raberg run the family-owned business. With high-quality leather jackets from Mauritius Leatherwear (formerly Gipsy) and Mauritius Silver, the group has been a fixture in the fashion retail industry for over 50 years. Freyr&Son is our next step: the same attention to detail, a new material, and a signature style of our own.
