Product Certification Expert PPE (m/f/d)
Schwabmünchen - Full-time - Permanent position
Your mission
Ensuring all CE-relevant product certifications and formal market approval for all products in the SPORT, TEC and PRO divisions. The position acts as a technical lead authority for standards, conformity assessment and product safety relevant processes.
What you can expect
Product certification & CE conformity:
- You will be responsible for all CE-relevant product certifications (e.g. PPE Cat. I-II, High-Visibility, electronics if applicable) - with a perspective on PPE Cat. III
- You select relevant standards and harmonized standards (EN standards), interpret them and ensure their correct application
- You derive binding technical requirements for construction, materials and design
- You ensure that products are created in compliance with standards across all development phases - from the initial idea to series release
- You are responsible for the EU conformity assessment and are responsible for the creation, review and release of EU declarations of conformity (DoC)
- You ensure complete and up-to-date technical documentation (technical files)
Technical management of development:
- You are the central technical interface for SPORT, TEC and PRO in all CE and certification topics
- You provide technical leadership to the development teams on issues relating to standards, compliance and certification topics
- You define binding compliance requirements as an integral part of the development process
- You work closely with the Product Management, QA, Purchasing and Legal & Compliance departments
Risk management:
- You set up and continuously develop a product-related compliance risk management system
- You assess technical and liability-related risks and derive preventive measures
- You provide support with complaints, incidents and potential recalls
Processes & systems:
- You develop standardized certification processes and integrate them into PLM and QA systems
- You manage external inspection bodies and notified bodies and ensure smooth cooperation
You bring with you
- You have a degree in engineering, textile technology, product safety, quality management or similar
- You have several years of experience in product certification and CE conformity assessment
- You have very good knowledge of relevant standards and directives (PPE regulation, EN standards, CE processes)
- You have experience in working with notified bodies and testing institutes
- You have a structured way of working and assertiveness
- You have a very good command of English
